Privacy Policy

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and the name you provide. You can sign up with an email and password or with Google sign-in.

Content you create. The written memories, reflections, titles, dates, photos, videos, and voice notes you add to a Preserve, along with the name and relationship of the person the Preserve is about.

Contributor information. If you invite someone to contribute, we collect the email address and name you provide for them, and the content they choose to submit.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's payment fields and never reach Preserve's servers or database. We store a record that a Preserve was paid for.

Product usage. We collect basic usage events (such as pages viewed and steps completed) so we can understand where the product is confusing and improve it.

Feedback you volunteer. If you choose to answer an optional feedback or survey prompt, we store your response. Public use of a quote is opt-in and never assumed.

We use your information to operate Preserve: to create and display your Preserve, to send invitations and the emails the product needs to function, to process your payment, to respond to your messages, and to improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your Preserve for advertising.

Preserve uses AI to help organize memories, suggest prompts, and weave individual contributions into a cohesive Preserve. Your content is processed to deliver these features to you.

We do not use your photos, recordings, or written memories to train AI models. Content submitted through Preserve and processed through Lovable's AI Gateway at runtime is not used by Lovable to train its models, and Lovable states that its agreements with the underlying AI providers restrict use of that content to what is necessary to provide the service, including restrictions on training. Preserve has also opted out of Lovable's optional use of Customer Content for model training.

We do not claim that AI processing is zero-retention. Lovable does not publish a single fixed retention period for AI Gateway requests or responses, and retention practices may vary by underlying provider and change over time. The applicable terms are those in Lovable's current Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement, and Trust Center and subprocessor disclosures.

Every Preserve is private by default. Only you, the owner, can view it until you invite specific people by email or share a finished Preserve through a secure link. There is no public directory of Preserves and no option to make one public. Access rules are enforced at the database level, not only in the interface.

Uploads are stored in private storage and served only through short-lived signed links. Traffic runs over HTTPS, and data is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure provider.

We use established third-party providers to run Preserve: hosting and infrastructure, database, authentication and storage, transactional email delivery, AI model providers, payment processing through Stripe, and product analytics. These providers process data on our behalf so we can deliver the service.

We send the emails the product requires: invitations, contributor reminders, account notifications, and password resets. Marketing or newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-outs.

You can edit or delete individual memories, revoke a contributor's access or an outstanding invitation, and permanently delete an entire Preserve at any time. A deleted memory remains recoverable for 30 days in case you change your mind; deleting a Preserve removes its content and uploaded files permanently.

As with most cloud services, our infrastructure provider keeps rolling backups for a limited period to protect against accidents. Those backups are deleted according to the provider's retention schedule.

Preserve is intended for adults. It is not designed for use by children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 13. A Preserve may include memories about children, added by the adult creating it.

Preserve is an early-stage product and does not currently hold formal certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or GDPR adequacy decisions. We follow security best practices on top of our hosting providers' controls.

We may update this policy as Preserve evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date below.
